Does anyone have pictures and/or weight specs of the XPS1530 with the 9 cell battery on it? I am trying to decide if I should go for the 9 cell or get 2 6-cells.
    Thanks,
    G

Also what happened to the search function on this forum?

Go for 9Cell Bro , it gives your laptop a small elevation and it provides a better air circulation

if you have the budget (add £85 more), then you better go with the 9cell coz it boosts your battery life from 2.30hrs to approximately 4hrs working time

I would say: Pick the 6 cell, test it for a few days and if you need more battery time try to find a cheap 9 cell battery on eBay.

I bought one for only 65€ , but I mainly use my original 6 cell (ok, the laptop is more "ergonomic" with the 9 cell, but it's heavier and doesn't look so cool :p)

    Hi!
I have both the 9 cell, and 6 cell for my 1530. :D

As, the OP stated...the 9 cell is great, for the elevation ~ and for the air circulation. ;) :) I use the 6 cell for when I am out-and-about. But, mostly use the 9 cell. ;) :D

Which one to invest in? If I had the choice between either...the 9 cell would be it ;) :) In my own opinion ;) :)

Or get an additional 6 cell so that your 2 x 6 cells > 1 x 9 cell. What's the problem with switching batteries mid-way in order to keep the slim form-factor of the M1330?

I have both 6 and 9, prefer the 9. The 6 gets really hot because of the lack of elevation and the 9 is much more comfortable to type on.

easily solved with adequate notebook cooling pad if you need to put it on your lap or bed. However, there is enough ventilation if placed on a proper flat surface.

If you plan on using your laptop extensively on battery, 9 cell. I use my XPS m1530 for university work and its great to go 4+ hours on battery with wifi turned on. The notebook is still pretty light with the 9 cell also (compared to my 4 year old Compaq Presario)

9 Cell. I was in the same case as you, but I ultimately chose the 9 cell, for easier typing, and airflow which will make your laptop last longer. However, when I bought it, it was only a 75$ upgrade. I would suggest to wait for the 9 cells to decrease in price (they went up because of the fire I believe.) But who knows when that will be. Either battery you choose will be excellent.
