    Why isn't there a 9 cell battery for the inspiron 17r 7720 ??

    Would there be one from Dell anytime soon .? If not can we expect third party Alternatives ? :confused:

    According to the design, the Inspiron 17R SE (7720) is only available with 6-cell battery now. You may check our web-site in the future for any update on that.

    So this is a serious Design fault on Dell's part ..

    This beast does require more than 6 cell power .. Any hope for a 9 cell battery in future ?

    As of now this system is shipped with 6 cell battery. Based on the usage the backup time varies. You may check our web-site in the future for any update on the 9- Cell battery.

    Despite what the rep says about checking back later, I'm going to say it isn't going to happen. As far as I know, there has never been an instance where Dell released a new battery for an old laptop that wasn't available/supposed to be available when said laptop was released. I'd be really surprised if they did this for a vanilla notebook like the 7720.
