    6 cell -- 4 hours 20 minutes on a pentium M
    9 cell -- 5 hours 20 minutes on a Pentium M

These are just estimates though. It really depends on what all you do when on your battery.

Yes, for instance, wireless can cut down battery life at a rate of around 20minutes. And also the brightness of the screen can also have effect on the battery.

what is the maximum you guys have gotten from a 9-cell battery?

cutting down wi-fi, and setting the display on the lowest screen brightness ..

I've seen an Inspiron 8600 do like six hours! ..

I went ahead and split this thread from the 6000 thread since it doesn't really apply to the 6000.

Personally, on my battery, using net and maximum brightness, I get about 4 hours. On the 6 cell i was only getting 2 hours, so I'm happy with my 4. If i maximized the battery, i could probably get around 5 hrs.
