I just returned a Cyberpower System laptop (the battery was advertised as 4 hours on it but it got only 2:30 tops and it had a cheaply built CD Drive that sometimes wouldnt eject, at least they took it back without charging restocking! I orderd the S4-3000 on their site) and got a Dell I6000D with the $750 off coupon today. For a 1.86Ghz Pentium M, the 15.4" WXSGA+ 1680x1050 screen, 1GB RAM, 40GB HD, 8x DVD burner, 128MB x300, Wifi, XP Home Edition and all the other standard stuff I paid a grand total of ~$1,485 USD (with tax included).
I ordered the 9 cell battery, since long bat life is very important to me, and I was wondering if it sticks out or is physically bigger than the standard 6 cell?
Also does anyone know the lifespans on the two?
This website's review says it gets ~3 hours on the standard battery, I saw another site that claimed just under 5 hours, and lastly Laptopmag.com or something like that claimed in their review that it got ~6 hours, and 5:58 or something like that with Wifi on.
I'd like to hear some real world ratings though. How does the battery last with wifi on, screen brightness not too dark (not all the way up either) and regular internet use/mp3 playing?

the different batteries have no aesthtetic differences but is a few ounces heavier or something.
6 cell is probably just less than 3 hours and 9 cell just under 6 (on battery-conserving modes) -
Depends on exactly what you are running and what is in the background. With Wifi, DVD playing and Mozilla Firefox on I get 4.5h-5 on 9 cells
