Does anybody have any advice for a driver that allows 1080p output via HDMI, as well as blu-ray playback? I've found drivers that do one or the other, but the only one I've gotten to work is the 169.25. (this is on a m1530, btw)

Using 169.09 in WinXP, seems good so far!

    Download the new driver

Uninstall the existing drivers (through Add & Remove programs in the Control Panel)

    Reboot

Cancel the 'found new hardware' wizard.

    Run the new driver Setup

    "job's a good 'un"

Is there any disadvantage with just installing the regular Nvidia reference driver on the XPS 1530's 8600GT? You should be able to force it to install pretty easily, and at least on the Macbook Pro it seemed to work flawlessly (it even still knew it was a mobile chip, and the fan still kicked in appropriately when running a game).
