I've been experiencing problems with various solid modeling applications (Solid Edge and SolidWorks), as well as AutoCAD 2008.
Specifically in Solid Edge, the graphics are extremely glitchy. Changing to Software OpenGL in the preferences seems to solve the problems, but Software generated OpenGL is slow and looks horrible at best.
I believe I am running a 169.xx driver version, from laptopvideo2go, however, the following information seems to clash with my thoughts:
[Display]
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz (1994 MHz)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
DirectX version: 9.0c
GPU processor: GeForce 8600M GT
ForceWare version: 174.93
Memory: 512 MB (256 MB Dedicated)
Video BIOS version: 60.84.5e.00.08
IRQ: 16
Bus: PCI Express x16
So, any thoughts? Is it an OpenGL issue? I tried to install the latest nvidia drivers, but of course there is minimal support for the 8600M.

Would the Quadro "hack" help? Just throwing the idea out there.

Sorry for the huge bump, but I'm still looking for a solution. Any thoughts?
8600M GT OpenGL support?
