Just taking a look at HP's offerings, the 8400M GS and the 8600M GS are about the only GFX cards that are available. As much as I would like the new Inspirion E1520 to have a 8600GT, does it really seem feasible? Taking a look at Dell's new XPS 1330. It simply comes with a 8400M as described! From what I have seen, the Dell M1210 usually has a graphics card that is on par with the E1505 or semi better. It would make more sense for the 8600GT to be on the 17'' model than the 15'' model too as we have all seen how the E1705 has the 7900GS upgrade option whereas only the X1400 mobility radeon for the E1505 15''.

15" can house a 7600GT; IMO 8600GT is more like the DX10 counterpart of 7600GT. Therefore it should be technically feasible, but whether DELL will put it or not is purely a business matter.

Apple put it in their 15-incher, and that's much thinner and lighter than Inspirons are right now... so I don't see any reason Dell couldn't offer it as an option.
-
Also the Asus C90S and the G1S are both 15.4" laptops which use the 8600GT so it's definitely possible .
-
Zepto actually packed it into a 14", too bad they're not officially sold in North America.

The 8600GT is also an option on the 17" 1720 model; however, that will likely also get the 8800GS or GT later on in summer.
