I was updating the bios on my 8600 today, and I realized how many times they have updated the bios to include new CPU support. That all seemed normal to me, however the most recent update to the bios was only a week and a few days ago, and it added support for new CPUs also. That caught my attention, because currently all the 400MHz FSB Dothan CPUs are supported already (at least 1.6-2.0GHz are, and I don't have a 2.1GHz one to test on, but I imagine it is) so this leads me to believe that Dell is adding support for the 533MHz FSB CPUs to their 8600 laptops.

As mentioned in a previous thread, Dell is going to update their 8600 line, however the author of that post thought they were going to make an Inspiron 8700, but if they were going to make an Inspiron 8600 they would have already pulled the 8600 from foreign markets, such as Australia (where the Inspiron 9200 is not available on their website anymore because of the comming 9300), which they have not.

    Inspiron 8600 * WUXGA * Intel Pentium M (Dothan) 725 (1.6 GHz) * 1024 MB of DDR333 * Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo with 128 MB @ 350/250 * 60 GB HD 5400RPM * CDRW/DVD Combo Drive
