I have an Inspiron 1520 Vista home premium which I have very seldom ever used over the last two years, having recently upgraded the memory to 2gb I am now struggling with the 8000FFFF error message/ KB929777 problem in Windows Update which a lot of people (mainly with Dell computers) appear to have struggled with during the past couple of years http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-US/itprovistasecurity/thread/69005962-ff03-475d-81c3-0e242bc23ae6/

As the problem no longer appears to crop up in forums would anyone know if a reliable fix was found please?

This has been moved but I posted it in "Dell" as it wasn't just an Inspiron problem but a general dell problem
