    it appears that my graphics card is dead, anyone know where to get a 7900gs or got one?

    I'd be very weary about replacing this with another 7900GS. Luckily I got the extended warranty, and currently the Dell engineer is replacing my 7900GS in my Inspiron 9400 for the third time in 2 weeks. I'm not a gamer or heavy graphics user. I think the card is no longer made, and the engineers are replacing them with re-furb ones.

    Not sure what other options there are, couple of friends have the 9400 with integrated Intel 945 graphics on the 9400, and have had no probs. so a mobo chamge may be better...

    It is definately the graphics card that is the problem as shown up in diagnostics, and the first engineer replaced the m/board and screen. It's not software either as the problem shows in BIOS screens too. I think the 7900GS in laptops is flawed.... I've read many other sources with similar problems to mine.
