I have heard that Dell underclocks the Go line of cards in the E1705/9300/9400 series laptops. I am looking at buying either an XPS M170 or a E1705 and was curious on opinions of the two cards. I game....mostly Wow and FPS so I would like something thats going to be "good enough" for a while (read 2yrs).

I can get either an XPS or E1705 for roughly the same price so I am looking for opinions one way or the other.

I have used both cards in two different notebooks by specs and brand. But I will tell you, that the 7800 is well worth it.

I really wouldn't go for an XPS unless they have dual core processing power chip from intel provided. Because all those games you play on your desktop with bad fps's when doing what your doing. With the 9400, it's actually surprising it can handle soo much detail at rendering each scene the way it should be, and the performance is really great.

I will admit, if you do too too much in one scene like in GTA at full res on everything. By like blowing up 20+ cars at once, it will stutter for a split second, but it's not bad enough to where your thinking what did I just buy.

I would go with the E1705, as well as I am making a personal review, with photo's and game footage to provide the difference. So stay tuned if you would wish to.

    7800 is better.
