    I have been checking throughout the night and even before it was supposed to start and it has always said it was expired. I even tried right after you had posted the code just to see what would have happened and it was the same thing. I personally think that 3 things are up with this, it never started, since from what I have seen, its always said its expired. Or its the wrong code. Or it actually ended in an hour which I highly doubt.

    Well... after checking a few other topics, I see that people actually did get to use the coupon. Wow, heh, that was really really fast... Anyways, hopefully there is a new one soon.

    the coupon really did work. i bought a 700m/1.8g/256mb/40g/8-cell for $807. i plan to upgd the ram & hd myself. any suggestions?

    also got a 6000/1.6g/256mb/30g/6-cell/bluetooth for $753. gonna upgd the ram & hd myself on this one too.

    the coupon "officially" expired within 46min. which means dell increased their balance sheets by at least $7.5 million in 45min!

    Ya, I got my order in at about 8:05am CST. Picked up a 700m 1.6GHz, 512mb Ram, 60gig HD, standard DVD drive and XP Pro for $860. $65 of that is tax. Expected to ship by the 21st!

    EDIT - forgot to add that I kept the 4-cell battery and also added on the 8-cell.

    does anyone think of getting the extended warranty ... I just hope this laptop lasts for about 2 or 2.5 years ... so is the 2 yrs extended warranty necessary ??? ...

    Too expensive a machine for me to not extend the warranty at least another year. And I don't care for the hassle of the mail in program. So, I get a little less processor or a no extra goodies and bought the 2 year, next business day coverage. I won't risk having it fail @ 14 months and be out of luck.
