i was wondering how much a 7200rpm hdd will affect the laptop, and will the speed increase be worth it?

Scroll a couple of pages down. This has already been discussed. Answer: big difference.

You might get weird answers, so be careful. If the person answers owns a 5400 rpm, they'll tell you it's a lot quieter, just as fast, and overall better. If they own a 7200 rpm they'll tell you its super quiet, dose nothing to the battery, and works like 3 times faster then the 5400 rpm.

    Be warned.

The newest 7200 rpm are not any noisier or hotter.

    Noise? Slight increase.

    Battery? Slight decrease.

    Heat? Slight increase.

Nothing significant, it's a good upgrade since you get a lot for very little.
