I'm about to get a notebook for college, and I need your help again-
I want a notebook that is fast and efficient, and durable enough to endure the four years of hell. For those of you who have experience with multiple notebooks, how much difference does the 400Mhz FSB and 4200rpm HD of the 700m make in terms of speed, compared to say, a 533 and 5400? Is it really noticeable and counterproductive? If it matters, I'll be doing general multitasking- no gaming or intense photo or video work often.
Thanks!

it first depends on how many MB or GB of RAM ur talkin about...and there is a big performance difference between the 4200 RPM hard drive and the 5400 RPM hard drive

1 GB RAM....When do you really notice the difference in HD speed? All the time?

well..for 1 GB RAM..if it's dual channel...then u won't notice much of a diff..even if it's not dual channel...u'll notice more of a diff. than wen it's not dual channel (don't no if that made any sense)...jus 2 put it simply...if u have 1 GB RAM...there won't b much of a difference between the 533 MHz FSB and the 400 MHz FSB...lol...and for the hard drive..it would b for watchin movies...opening folders...moving files from 1 folder or location to anther location...playing games...and the loading of applications closing of applications...that would b the main difff. where u would c b/w the 4200 RPM hard drive and the 5400 RPM hard drive..but if ur multitasking...it would b better 2 get the 5400 RPM hard drive
