    Hi,

I'm in Switzerland and in Europe the Dell Inspiron 700m is unfortunately not available. However there are plenty of 700m on Ebay and I may be interested in getting one. The problem is that I need a french keyboard. No matter if it's AZERTY or QWERTZ or anything but I just need the special keys for french. Do you know if this is possible to get a french keyboard on the 700m?

If I get the 700m from Quebec in Canada, will it have a french keyboard? If yes is it AZERTY or QWERTZ?

    Thanks

You have to get the french configuration. Yes you will have a french keyboard (QWERTY)...but why don't you buy it with a english keyboard and change the settings to US-International so you can type with accent. I'm doing that wiht my Dell I8000. Good luck...

US-International is a setting in windows. Under keyboard in control panel you will see input language...by default is in English and US layout. you can change that to US-International. so to do any letters with a accent simply press the key for the accent first and the letter after...(ie. shift+6, e will make a e with " chapeau" ...or keystroke for appostrophe follow with a " e" will make e avec accent aigu...and for the trema its shift+(keystroke for appostrophe)(same as for quotation) and follow by a vowel. )
It's very easy and straight foward. Over here in Canada, special business man from Quecbec don't like the layout of the " french keyboard" so they they the english keyboard and modified in option in windows... also with a french keyboard...some of the keys are not layout the same way...and it has more keys for nothing...
