So, I was flying Southwest the other day... I'm the type that likes to camp out at the gate, so that I can get my exit row seat. At any rate, while sitting there watching a DVD, a 300lb man standing next to me fell down directly on my 700m. Apparently, his knee gave out. At any rate, the screen went all the way back, but there was no damage to the laptop. I was quite amazed. Woo hoo!

very good to hear! I have a similar story about my M6Ne... I left it on one of those tour buses with upper "storage" cabinets. Turns I forgot to close the cabinet one time... and my laptop fell from the upper cabinet to the floor!! (within the notebook carrying case, of course)

    No damage at all :D

Well I think if a laptop is placed snuggly into a notebook sleeve, it should stay safe. I saw someone putting their Apple Powerbook into a sleeve, looked sleek, and protected.

Me thinks you got lucky. I actually owned a 700m for a few week. I didn't care much for the build quality.
