I bought some DVD's (a box set of a tv show ) , and the third episode, last chapter , seems to jam. Thought it was scratched, til I tried it on my tv set and it worked fine. Any ideas ?

Some dvd players gets an occassional hiccup here and there. I remember my Dell used to lockup at the exact same point, all the time on the first Matrix movie. I didn't keep the laptop long enough to see if there was a firmware update for it. I tend to upgrade/update my notebook every year or so. You might want to check if there's any firmware updates on your DVD drive. Other than that, I dont know what to tell you.

    It's a cdrw/dvd rom (no dvd burner)

And the discs weren't dirty, I don't think. I just took the m out of the packaging. I'll try again later today. Thanks.
