Anybody else experience stuttering mp3s when played back under xp? I ended up raising winamp's priority to get rid of the stuttering but my 700m's cpu never steps down when playing mp3s now.

I would do a check of all of your processes that are running using the Task Manager. Also, use MSConfig to keep some programs of initalizing during startup, that will help decrease the load on your system and may help get rid of teh jitters.

Ran msconfig and saw that Dell preloaded a bunch of junk apps that I'll probably never use. Ended up doing a format and clean install of XP. MP3 files play fine with no stuttering at all and my cpu steps down as well.
