Will the dvd burner burn all formats? -R,+R and so on? What about dual layer dvd's? I can't find an answer on this... Any help would be appreciated.

If the burner is 8X speed, it can burn dual layer discs, I know that for sure, I'm pretty sure it can burn both + and - formats also.

Find out what drive it is in device manager and look it up on the manufacturer's web page to find the specs.
