Hey Ya'll I just got my GF a 700M and I looked at it and I can't tell if its a 8-Cell I orderd or a 4-Cell? On the back is say 71wh I htink welll I looked at the Dell web it doesnt say much plus the back of the battery doesnt match up what Dell say 65wh? ANy how even with a 9-Cell how long is it suppose to last? I pluged and charged it say 3hr:59min Remaining.. isnt it suppose to be 5.6 with the 8-Cell Im worried about this ****....

the 8-cell would stick out of the back, the 4-cell would not. If your battery is flushed with the it's 4-cell. You're right that the Dell web says 65wh, not sure what's up with the 71wh. Also, even though it says 3hr 59minutes, you'll need to discharge the notebook all the way to get an accurate measure. With the 700m it's actually like 2 hours or less that I got. Your battery will (almost) never meet the claim manufacturers make for the charge life.

Well... for this one, I think 700M can run quite a well. I have the 8 cell, and when I am on battery power, I have had 4+ hours.

    I9300 - 1.86 1G 60G 7200rpm 17" WUXGA 256M 6800Go - Waiting
    700m - 1.6 512M 40G - Current

the 4 cell isn't exactly flush - it sticks about about 1/2" past the casing of the laptop shell. the 8 cell will stick out about 2x as much.

If you've got a camera; take a picture and we can let you know.

If it's saying anything over 4 hours for a sustained period of time, chances are its the 8 cell.
