I'm basically looking at options for a small portable laptop for Office/ Visual Studio development/demoing softare/web browsing for work. Is the added cost of the XPS M1210 over a 640m worth it? How usable is the 12" screen compare to the 14"? Is the build quality of the XPS M1210 that much better? Comments?
Here are the two systems:

i'm in a similar situation. i own a 640m (2.0ghz c2d, 1.5gb ram, 60gb hd) but i wanna play some games now that a gma950 simply cannot run. i also saw the 20% off xps m1210 coupon and i'm very tempted to get it but i'm worried the screen size is too small hence i'm also considering a sony sz.
-
Redflagdeals has a special affiliate link to the 1210m that I seen. Not sure if that btter or worse than the 20% coupon. -
Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I think the world of my M1210, and if your willing to buy a refurb, you can find some insane deals in the outlet if your VERY paitent, it took me a lot of searching, but I got the unit in my sig for under $1000 US.

There'S a lot of places in shopping centers where you can ask questions about dell products, see dell products, get extra coupons (150$ less for me yaaahou!) on dell products and order dell products. But no outlet what so ever with refurbished stuff. It's probably a US thang! -

Halifax Costco has no Dells. Depends on the location I guess.
-
Costco Canada online has lots of Dell systems.

Does anyone have the dimensions and weight of the 640m and M1210 with the 9 cell battery? Trying to compare these for overall size and weight. Didn'e see it on Del site but maybe I missed it.

Anyone......?? Pls...
-
where did you see/read that you could? I've never seen that happen before. Good luck. Let us know if you find it.
-
its on the same topic..page 1... the very first comment..

i guess i had the 20% off
cuz of my epp and the free upgrade to 2gbs ram -
20% off was via a special affliate link offer that ends today. Its not really 20% off as the normal XPS config is lower than what they apply the 20% too, it owrks out to around $120-200 off dependign on the options you add. My order said I saved $400 but compared to doping it direct on the Dell site it was more like $160.
640m vs XPS M1210 Worth the extra cost?
