I just got my 640M and after reformatting and putting in XP, Vista was brutal

I now see that the wireless card is weak and slow.

the speed I get is quite slow compared to my 6400

is there anything i can do?

My experience is you come to intel website to download the latest version of Pro-Wireless (if your wireless card is intel).

    Hope this would help.

its the dell 1390 wireless card.

the speeds I get are very slow

dell wont upgrade me to the intel pro , i offered to pay extra, they want instead to ship the whole system back and get a refund and rebuy it again, that to me seems really stupid especially for a $10 card.

if I ship it back, I would never buy a dell again.

    there making it very difficult.
