i was just wondering if its normal for the screen to flicker. When i close the lid, the monitor turns off. when i open it up..it takes up half a second for the screen to come back on, but about 30 seconds later, the screen has a quick flick. Is this normal? thanks!

Yes & no. Usually it flickers as soon as you open the lid (about 2 seconds after the screen comes back on). I think this has something to do with refreshing it, but not 100% sure.

You might try updating/reinstalling your video card driver to see if that helps any.
