I tried using the Vista Anytime Upgrade so I could switch from Basic to Ultimate and now the sound doesn't work. I tried downloading and installing the sound driver from Dell Support but it still doesn't work. Dell Support told me the 6400 wasn't compatible with either Home Premium or Ultimate which seemed odd since I was sure I saw atleast Ultimate as an option.

I'm just wondering if anyone has had any luck using the Vista Anytime Upgrade on their Dell?

Anyother sound software installed? Did you uninstall the original driver first? I had problems with Dells' updated driver, but after installing it, removing it, and re installing it a couple times it finaly worked.
