    I know the pros and cons to 32-bit vs 64-bit.

    Has anyone with a Dell (pref Latitude) done a 64-bit clean install. Any stability issues. Do Dell's drivers support 64-bit?

    If the included drivers were x86, don't expect them all to work for x64. You might be able to make a list of all your hardware, then download the appropriate x64 drivers and slipstream them into a new Vista CD/DVD via vLite.

    I am referring to chipset drivers, video card drivers, internal bluetooth drivers, wifi and so on. Not any peripherals. I'm asking about just running the laptop alone with 64-bit Vista.

    Suppose I purchase the retail 64-bit Vista. Is the machine capable of running properly. Are there 64-bit drivers for the laptop itself?

    I use my D630 with vista 64: no missing drivers and very good performance. Only thing thats lacking is the TPM software

    TPM = Trusted Platform Module???

    What is that? What are you unable to do without TPM?

    Also, did you somehow purchase with 64-bit or did you clean install with retail?
