I'm in need of a laptop for school. I've narrowed it down to the 600m or 700m, but cant decide which is best for me. By the looks of it, I can customize them the exact same way in terms of specs. The two big differences being the screen size and the 1 lb weight difference.

Which would you suggest for me, and what are your thoughts on each machine?

    Thanks.

If it is just for a school...I like to recommend 600M plus it's about $100~200 cheaper than 700m.

i recently had to make a decision between the two as well. i eventually went with the 600m. i prefer it over the 700m because it was cheaper and had a dedicated video card. and although my laptop is also for school, i at least can rest easy knowing that i could play a game here or there relatively comfortably. with the 700m that is just not possible. i also felt the screen size of the 700m was way too small. i couldn't care less about widescreen, so it didn't really matter for me that the 600m was 4:3. it is still a very compact notebook.

dell 700m has wider screen and better looking. depends what your looking for.if you have a budget go with the 600m. If not go w/ the 700m,just make sure your not going to do gaming.[ :p]

i have the 600m. The main reason of I got 600m v.s. 700m is because of the size of the screen, and the video card. I did not really care about saving 100-200. If 600m had the wide screen 14"+, and the good video card, I could get it. I use it when I have to work from home, and as well as surf on the net and chat at night.

the design looks good on 700m but the screen is just too small. wild screen is nice, but it does not do good if it is only with 12.1" screen thou.

    Wild screen?...lol[ :D]

the 600m is nice-small, wireless, O.K. for moderate gaming, and it looks sweet. I actually think the 700m is too boxish (i cant really think of a precise word to describe) and thick seeing as it was supposed to replace the 300m (i guess, because when it came the 300m was gone).
