I would have loved to purchase the 6000 with the dedicated graphics (Radeon), but it appears that Dell is requiring the 3 year warranty with it; I couldn't even get a rep to help me out. The price difference in getting the 3 years is around $250, so it's just not worth it. My question is this: should I get the 600m with a 64mb graphics card or the 6000 with the integrated graphics? The price difference is negligible. I don't play too many games, though I do like to keep up with the latest versions of FIFA. If I just put a large amount of RAM in the 6000, could I get it to produce adequate graphics?

no...it won't be the same...read what i posted in your other topic about the dell 6000 with the 3 yr warranty..i said that u could add more warranty to your system before your warranty expired...and that is what i plan to do if my laptop doesn't get outdated badly within the next 2 years...i got the 2 yr warranty because i didn't think the price for the 3 yr warranty was worth it

if you're not in a hurry, wait a week or two, i'm pretty sure the base config will change between now and then

If you tell us your budget and what you plan to do with it, maybe there is something better out there.

I tried to have the CSR reduce the warranty term, but they stated it was a "deal of the week" and could do nothing. After about an hour of searching, I was finally able to find an e-value code that let me avoid the 3 year warranty. Thanks for the comments.

Was that e-value code for the media center 6000? When I was ready to buy mine they also required the 3 year warranty for their system with the x300 graphics. A little searching on google and I found an e-value code for a previously advertised media center version of the laptop that had the x300 and didn't require a 3 year warranty. After ditching the tv tuner and $80 anti-virus software they try to sneak in to your purchase, it came out a few hundred less than the 3-year warranty version.

Since the media center 6000 is gone from Dell's web page again, here's the e-value code for it: 6V620-i6000S4

I used e-value code 11111-N6K29KM, which gave me full customization without having to get Media Center.
