Does anyone know if dell has fixed the heat disapation problems with the 600m? If not does anyone know of any solutions? Because I just ordered the 600m and am having second thoughts on the whole heat issue, any information would be appreciated, especially from those who have had experience with it.

If you play around with the notebook for some time you will notice an increase in heat from the HD. The HD is located under the left palm rest. For me I ordered a notebook cooler. The one I got has 2 fans, and a built in 4 USB hub in the back. It keeps the laptop cool all day long and there is no heat from the HD now (stays around 40C) Heres the one I got, you can get others without the hub, but I just needed one for all the gadgets that I have and why not have it all in one...?

I got a 600M about 21 Days ago and have not had a problem with heat. The hard drive area gets a little warm, but no biggy. I also use the unit with the docking station most of the time, that may have some impact.

as with the above poster, the only heat issue that you should have with the 600m should be the hard driver getting warm. That can usually be remedied by setting the left side of the laptop a touch higher so that the fan that is under that side will be able to get some cool air into the laptop. Other than than, this laptop stas very cool, and you will be surprised if it gets your lap hot.
