I am thinking of getting either the 600M or the 700M, from what I have been reading, there has been some problems with the 600M, Is the 700 a better buy? can I get some opinions from you all? and is it worth it getting the 4 yr warranty Thanks for the help

There are no problems with the m600. The m600 is a better gamer then the m700 also. IMO, go with the m600.

    Inspiron 8600 * WUXGA * Intel Pentium M (Dothan) 725 (1.6 GHz) * 1024 MB of DDR333 * Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo with 128 MB @ 350/250 * 60 GB HD 5400RPM * CDRW/DVD Combo Drive

than get a 700m. It has a dvd burner. Its 4.1lbs and very light. It has a 12.1 inch widescreen great for watching dvds. The only thing that sucks is the battery life, but they have an extended battery which will increase battery life to about 5 hours, enough to watch well over a 3 hour movie like the Godfather or Titanic. And about two movies around 120 minutes like Heat or Ray.

now the graphics arent the best, so your not going to be able to play the best. But if you want to play like Diablo 2, Simcity 4, sports games, hunting games, Battlefield 1942, than its fine. Its not going to play doom 3 or half life 2.

their going to discontinu the 600m real soon, so it will be outdated real soon, but its been popular, but theirs no widescreen screen. Get a 2 or 3 year warranty laptop. BTW 4 hits around, you want a new laptop pretty bad, so max 3, mininum one.

btw theirs an SD card reader on the 700m, so all you have to do is take out your SD card from your digital camera and put it in the slot and the pictures can transfer that way onto the computer.
