Does it matter, or are there advantages to windows managing the wireless device?

I received my new 6000 on the 21st and have the problem with a restart. After talking to the tech group they are sending me out a new machine that should be here next week. Meanwhile I can use this one as long as I keep it on. If I shut it down I must wait at least an hour before it will turn on again.

    Thanks

hmm that's weird. Why do you have to wait an hour?

As to your question, no it doesn't matter. I'm assume you are talking about Intel Pro and XP's wireless service. This is pretty much a preference thing. Some users find intel easier to config and like it better, so they use it. Yet some users don't, and rather use XP.

It seems to be a temperature sensor unit problem. After it starts back up a screen comes up stating that it was shut down due to the temp. being to high. I down loaded a temp. monitoring program and the temps remain low. The machine operates normal when it is up and does not feel hot at all.

For the monitoring, it doesnt affect the strengh of the signal correct?

Not to my knowledge, it won't. Most users have problems with Intel's software, so they use XP's service.
