I ordered a Dell 6000d, and am worried that I'll get the sparkling screen. I ordered it with the wxga screen (the standard one), and have heard that people with the wsxga+ and wuxga have the sparkle. Is this a defect, or is it in every display?
My brother has a 600m with a wuxga display, and his doesn't have a sparkle (which is why I don't know what it looks like). I'll be using the laptop for school, which means that word, and internet (both have a lot of white backgrounds) are to be used (and from what I have read, light, or white backgrounds trigger the sparkle).
I did get complete care, so I can get a new laptop if it gets really bad, but if its in all the laptops, I might consider sending it back when I get it.
On an unrelated issue, the ram modules don't have to be installed in pairs right? I want to upgrade at a later date, to max the ram, and it'd be easier (mostly on my wallet) if I could replace one chip at a time. The reason I ask is because my PowerMac G5 requires installation in pairs...
Thanks in advance.
