I am getting ready to buy a 6000 with WSXGA+ and 8X DVD+RW/+R. I am reading that the display is dim and the drive noisy. Is this true? After looking at a number of Sonys and HPs, will I be disappointed with the display? I am assuming the drive is loud only when in use and not all the time, if noisy at all. Wish Dell had a store in VA where I could go and take a look. Thanks.

Those reviews that say the display is dim are referring to the WXGA 1280x800 display. I have not heard what the WSXGA with bright view is like.

And I am also yet to get confirmation on whether "UltraBright" at Dell refers to the coating that you see with other laptops.
