I am about to order an inspiron 6000 with the new 20% off coupon code. My question: Since there haven't been any posts about battery life with the 6000, how much of a difference will the 9 cell battery make and is it worth the extra $80? What is interesting is that the 8600 only came with a 9 cell, but the 6000 has the 6 cell standard. (Cost cutting?) Any ideas on projected battery life with the 6 cell?
Thanks!

6-cell lithium ion batteries usually pack 3.25 to 3.5 hours
on the other hand, 9-cell batteries usually last 5 hours -
Well it mainly depends on the system configuration and how power-hungry the internal components will steal battery life. For example, a 4200 RPM HDD would obviously use less power than one spinning at a 5400 RPM. Also, processor. Processor's darin a huge amount of power. However, seeing as the 6000 has a Pentium-M I would think that a 6-cell would last about 2 1/2 hours tops and a 9-cell probably around 4- 5 hours.
