Thinking about getting a 1520 but how much more battery life will you get out of the 9 cell and how much is it gonna stick out? anybody know the estimated battery life on the 6?

In E1505 extended battery didn't stick out. So I'm guessing it would be same in E1520 too (however I could be wrong).

My question is that there is also a 4 cell, so I assume the 4 cell sit flush with the body of the notebook. Does that mean the 6 and 9 cell stick out?

I asked a Dell representative today and he said none of the batteries stick out with the 1520.

9 cell for me. I find it bizarre that they havent listed simple info like battery life and weight.

I'm pretty sure the advantages of the smaller batteries are just decreased cost and weight. If you want good battery life you need the 9 cell.

I believe with the 1505 series the 9-cell did stick out a bit. Maybe he's mistaken, or they've revamped the battery.

I just asked a sales representative and he says the 9 Cell sticks out a bit for the 1520, but the 6 Cell doesn't.

I got the 9 cell. It's well worth it considering the extra weight and if it sticks out a little bit.

Question though, does the 6 cell batt sit flush with the laptop? or does it stick out abit too ? if its flush with the surface, i'll get a 6 and 9 cell, if not back to 4 and 9 :(

4 cell is only offered on the xps 1330 right? i would assume the 4 and 6 cell sit flush, while the 9 cell extends out some.

If they stick out, they're hell to travel with. My hp tx1000 has a 4 and I carry a six; my D630 has dual 6'ers in the battery slot and the media bay.

The 9 cell on the 1505 does NOT stick out. Just to clarify.

9 cell on e1505 does not, but 1520 does. the 9 cell weighs a negligible amount more than the 6 cell. on cnet, in the review for the inspiron 1420, the 9 cell battery lasted about 3.5 hrs on their dvd drain test.

No, its not. Must be the 15.4". Battery sticks out symmetrically in the middle of the back in the 14".

I have a D830 which is 15.4inch with Santa rosa as well with a 9 cell battery and it does not stick out.

So my guess would be that the E1520's 9 Cell would not stick out.

That stinks that is sticks out.

You would think that they could make it not stick out since its 15.4.

Its also weird I think because there D830's does not stick out as well as the E1505's did not stick out.
