    just curious how long it will last on average? just doing basic internet surfing, etc... I will have the 8400M GS video card more than likely.

    Depending on all those brightness settings and power settings, the battery should last between 2-3 hours for you? You could probably get even more if you can optimize your system.

    I have the 9-cell and I'm glad I got it. If I'm running bright screen and driving it really hard (Need for Speed Most Wanted), I get appreciably under 3 hours. Using Media Direct to watch DVD's I can usually squeeze in two films without running out of juice (which is nice on a really long travel bit).
