Hi, is there any "big" differences between a 5400 and a 7200 rpm harddrive?
Loadingtimes in games are faster, but is it about the same performance while playing games? or will I get higher fps with a 7200?
Why I ask is because the 7200rpm isn't available as option on the 1530 version I want (there is a huge discount on that one) if I build the one without the discount and with the 7200 rpm I'll have to pay 150 dollars more :S, So I'm thinking about just getting the 5400 if it's not a big performance loss.
(Sorry for my bad english )

I will stick to the 320gb 5400rpm, but thats just me, I have a 7k2 on my laptop and cannot see real improvement towards my old 5400...

I think it just loads a bit quicker, makes more noise and uses more power (although i'm not sure exactly on this last point).

Thanks for the answers, I'll probably stick with the 5400 then.

The hard drive is the bottleneck for many applications. As a percentage, the 7200's are a considerably faster spin than the 5400's. You could always just get the 5400, buy a 7200 much cheaper on newwegg.com, and sell the 5400.

The 7200 RPM will give you slightly, hardly noticeable improvement in start up. The main benefit of it is when moving large files. So if your doing a lot of video work, this may be what you want. If not, I'd just stick with the 5400 RPM.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll go with the 5400 rpm (Hope games will run as good as with the 7200rpm)

Games usually load themselves into ram in advance for the most part, you'll be fine.
