    5400 rpm Sata Hard Drive 7200 rpm Hard drive with Free Fall sensor

    There ís an option when you order 1720 inspiron:
    500 GB (5 400 rpm) SATA-hard drives (2x250 GB) or
    400 GB (2 x 200 GB) Hard drive with Free Fall Sensor (7200 RPM)

    Which one is the better choise?

    It's all about money.

    If you can afford the 7200 with FFS, get it. It will be noticeably faster, and that FFS might be nice to have in case of an accident someday. 400GB is a lot of space, do you really need 500?

    But if the 500 is much cheaper, and you're on a tight budget, then get that. 5400 is the most common speed on laptop HD's, and just be careful not to drop the laptop. :p
