The only way to get DD is to use the S/PDIF output on the multimedia dongle that you can purchase thru Dell (it connects to the S/VHS port). I think the best bet is to buy a usb audio product.

I searched the dell website but couldent find it can some one direct me to the right place ?

Don't bother with the dongle - from what I've read you have to hook up the audio and video in order to get the audio output. Sounds stupid, doesn't it?
Buy a USB sound card. -

Check this thread:

In short, this is the one you want:
http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04&sku=310-8274
Note that it works with DVDs (5.1) and all other sounds too (but only digital stereo).
If you're going for gaming, you'll need an external card to get 5.1.
