They already have sales. There will be nothing special on July 4th. If there is, it will be probably along the same lines of the $500 discount, which actually isn't worth that much in comparision to the 25% off deal. Point is, dont expect something like the 25% off coupon to emerge on July 4th. In the history of Dell, Dell runs deals all the time. July 4th isnt the special day for major sales. It will be the same lines.

Doubt that will be happening. They dont want to put anything in the way of Studio sales.

Well they have a nice deal right now for the xps m1530. $599 off & the configuration is rather nice... only need to change a few things so you can get a really nice lappy for about $1374 + tax~

But arent they phasing out the current XPS line due to it affecting alienware sales stat?

No. They will phase out the high class gaming desktop and the XPS M1730, not the other ones.

XPS still remains as a premium line with upper end mid-range gfx cards like 9600GT. 8600GT, etc. We most likely wont see 8800M GTX on the M1530's successor like the alienware m15x does.

EPP = employe purchase plan. My wife works for a cable company who buys a lot of Dells. They get a discount, as do employees.

If you go to college, you most likely have one too since schools that buy Dell equipment have them as well. There are no significant discounts for EPP at all right now, so there really isn't any point to get them. Its only about 30 bucks cheaper or less.

it does, i've been following it for a couple of months and there's a pattern as long as Dell still has them in stock. you can also try calling and configure it with a sales rep. i think the sale templates can be recalled or saved over the phone even if they're not currently online.
