Which do you guys recommend? I'm using this computer as a desktop replacement. So it's not going to be used on the go so much. Battery life of a couple hours is likely enough for me.

The 6 cell gives almost 3 hours with WIFI on. My 8 cell gives almost 5 hours.

I would say that the 4 cell is probably just over 2. There is no weight differential between 6 and 4 cells; nor is there a cost issue - at least when I purchased.

    Recommendation: Get the 6 cells.

Why not get the 6 cell battery when it's the same exact price as the 4 cell? It's not like you're concern about the little extra weight since you're going to use it as a desktop replacement. Get the 6 cell just in case you need to take it somewhere. I find myself taking mine out in the yard/deck a lot.

Yeah, this was my thinking, but it made me wonder why the 4 is even offered. Why would anyone choose it? Made me wonder if I was missing something important about the differences.

I get about 4 1/2 hours when I have the light sensor on, WiFi on, and not doing much CPU intense stuff. If my screen is at max I get about 3 hours. I have the 6-cell.

Go with the 6-cell. There's no reason to go with the 4-cell.
