Hey guys im planning on buying an E1705 with

    Intel® Core™ Duo Processor T2250 (1.73GHz/533MHz FSB)
Memory 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
    Video Card 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 7900 GS
Hard Drive 100GB 5400RPM SATA HardDrive

But i was wondering what kind of 3dmark, 03,05, and 06 scores everyone gets, since everyones specs will be around mine. Also, im thinking about what kind of carrying case i should buy for this small titan because ill be doing some mobile gaming at lan parties and your occasional ridiculous family vacation.
Another thing, will it be able to play games like Crysis? im also pondering about that 7900 GS since its not fully compatible with the new DX10 Games, i wonder if dell would be willing to upgrade it if we send in our laptops for new Nvidia mobile cards that support DX10.

You should be expecting somewhere around 4k in 3dmark05 and upwards of 6k in 3dmark06. Believe it or not, your CPU is gonna be your bottleneck. The 2250 only has 533 FSB whereas the T2(3,4,5,6,7)00 have a 667 FSB, making them generally faster. As far as DX10 goes, the 7900GS will not support it, nor will any card currently offered. I also don't expect Dell to offer an upgrade because it will be 8 months to a year before TRUE DX10 cards are offered, and by then, Dell will probably have a new model and will be no longer selling the E1705. However, according to a thread in the Gaming section, Crysis will run on the 7900GS. If that's all you want the laptop for, I would suggest wait. Also, this probably belongs in the Gaming section.

Um notebook_ftw, I think you got 06' and 05' scores mixed up. It should be the other way around. Lol. But that seems about right.

Currently I get 3500 in 3D mark 06. But, I'm running it realistically, I didn't kill any processes, I have the stock drivers, no overclocking or the like. My rig is running the 7900gs, 1 gig of ram, and the 1.83ghz processor (what is that, the T2500 or something?). I could probably get to 4000 easy if I got another gig-o-ram (which im planning) and a bit of overclocking. There was a big thread with a whole bunch of scores from E1705s (most overclocked), do a search for it. They were getting some insane scores with some of the dual pipeline mods or whatever they were doing to the 7900gs. Hope that helps (I rambled a bit, ha ha).

I would go with the bare minimum of RAM from Dell and then upgrade from a place like Newegg. This will save you a bunch of money. And also don't buy 667 MHz RAM if your FSB is only 533. This adds costs that does nothing for you.

And you will love your e1705!!
