hi with my current laptop setup hooked up to a 19inch monitor on 3d mark 06 i scored 1711 is that little? can someone tell me what are good drivers since im using nvidia
edit: ok i did it again put it to defaults changed to no power saving option and performance setting in nvidea control panel and got 3146

Hmm.....I would go and check out Futuremarks website and do a project comparison. When I did, it seems that people are getting 3000-3500 3DMark06 scores with the Nvidia Go 7900 GS.
-
so im ok? would using diffrent drivers up my score
-
Different drivers may not make the score too much more then that but over clocking would heres a web site that helps explain changing the drivers

Ps that 3dmark score is just fine for stock and actually pretty dang fast for a laptop
my xps desktop only gets 5071 in 3dmark06 and its a beast with a 7900gtx -
you think its good? if i overclock that would go against my warranty right
-
Overclocking doesn't go against your warranty, but if you GPU gets fried because of the overclock, Dell won't cover it.
-
what if i say i spilled juice on it
-
Or drop it in the pool lol
Honestly i wouldnt bother over clocking it the diff is minamal your eyes can only see so much, i think people sometimes go too over board with the speed factor these new lappys are plenty fast enough

Sample if you paid for the accidental damage warranty, then your covered, but if not, its your loss.

Those scores actually seem a little low. I get about 3900 with my Quadro 1500M, which is supposed to be quite similar to a 7900GS. You might try a reformat or something to get some of the Dell crapware off and reduce the number of running processes (if you haven't already). Still, over 3k in 3dmark06 is a very nice score for a notebook.

Yeah I too have an e1705, and my stock scores were about 3900 with settings on max performance. I didn't perform a clean install of the OS either, just uninstalled crapware using Crap Cleaner, then removed the excess registry entries. After overclocking, I'm up to 4613. Specs of my system are in sig, only thing I can see making the difference is the RAM, but I don't think it'd be almost 1000 points difference.
-
ya same setup as you and I got 3900 right out of the box.
-
that aint fair is crap cleaner a program and how do you remove excess registry entires i followed some guide they had here to optimise ill try some stuff
-
yeah, crap cleaner is a program you can download and it is an amazing program that will clean out registry entries. Of course, as with anything that touches the registry, be careful as it could screw up your computer. Make sure to backup all the registry changes, so that if you need to, you can restore the registry.
Crap cleaner also has its own add/remove programs, remove startup programs, and the cleaner itself, which deletes cookies, temporary files, etc. to open up space.
