Hi.
Vostro 1400 [2.4GHz T8300] [2GB] [GeForce 8400M GS 128MB] or
Lat. D630 [2.4GHz T8300] [2GB] [Quadro NVS 135M 128MB] ?
Which does have better performance for 3D modelling and CAD ( not extensive rendering or great amount of 3d objects )?
both 3DMark05 and 06 claim geforce 8400 is far more better than nvs 135, but are they reliable benchmark for CAD performing too?

Apart from the drivers (which can be swapped) they are the same. The real difference which also makes the Latitude more expensive is the build quality.
-
Same?
Do you mean NVS is as powerful as GeForce 8400 GS? Although I don't know much about these two card but I always think that NVS card are just energy-saving for non-graphical businesses. I had thought they are not powerful, but it seems I am absolutely wrong!
But yet I dont understand if NVS has the same power, why both NVS 135 and NVS 140 have 3DM05 and 3DM06 lower score than 8400.
So far there are 3 people 've voted not for 1400. I fear the name quadro aside CAD had encouraged this poll result. Although NVS serie does not have any relationship with quadro FX series which facilitate CAD performance or again I am wrong?
To be honest, this is my problem :
I like D630 more, but I fear NVS incapability. 1400 is more popular in this site ( as you could see in "Popular laptops" ), there is no widespead defect for 1400, but D630 has been reported of some graphic problems.
What should I do then? -
The NVS 135M is the very same card. No difference in the hardware. The lower score results from the fact that the quadro drivers are not made for speed, but stability.
If you swap the drivers you should get the same results. -
Thank you very much!
So good news, I'm likely to buy D630 then.
