I looked for an answer about this and I haven't found one.

    Here we go:

I have a Studio 17 with a 3650 and I recently bought a Samsung 650 46 LCD. When I plugged it in, I was surprised to see that the resolution on my computer desktop automatically adjusts to a resolution less than 1920X1080. I am wondering why this happens. I know this tv can display a native res of 1920X1080, as can my computer monitor. This happens both with the old Catalyst and newest Catalyst drivers via the dell website (aside: now I cant scale the desktop with the new catalyst either).

Does anybody else have this problem.. i.e.: when you plug your HDTV in does your computer desktop resize so that there is an inch of black at the top and bottom??

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

....do you really need both displays to show at 1920 x 1080? If so then what you have to do is go through the display setting by hitting personalize when you right click on your desktop

there you will be able to put the resolution you want for both displays hope this helps :D
