    3 weeks for delivery.. is this normal?

    Ordered on Friday the 13th. Estimated delivery date.. July 30. + a couple of days for purolator to screw with my package (damn I hate them.. but that's another matter entirely).. 3 weeks.

    Is this normal? It's disappointing.. I want my new laptop!

    Dude, where's my Dell?

    2 week turnaround for your laptop doesn't seem too bad? Dell usually estimates 10-15 days for a laptop to get from the order stage to the shipping stage as long as there are no delays.

    It's your own fault for ordering on the Friday the 13th!

    Actually, it sounds about right. 2-3 weeks is what I would expect. Anything sooner and consider yourself lucky.

    I ordered 7/1 and got a 7/20 estimated date. So you're actually better off than I am.

    For a recently introduced product, 3 weeks is relatively normal. In a few months, you can probably order the notebook computer on Sunday afternoon and have it arrive at you address on Friday via ground shipping. That is what happened to both my Inspiron 9400 and 640m. Order placed Sunday afternoon, immediately went into production and was already in the boxing stage when I woke up Monday. It arrived in Nashville, TN Wednesday and got to my house on Friday.

    No one likes to wait, but having a laptop custom built to what specs I want and at a great price is worth waiting for. If I didn't have patience I'd just drive to Best Buy and overpay for a laptop that's not configured how I want it. My Vostro 1500 has an estimated date of 8-1.

    do note: the estimated shipping date given by dell (not the shipping service) is in the worst possible case scenario. like they told me they would ship on 8/2. but my 1520 got shipped on 7/13.

    so only in the latest possible case will it ship on the suggested shipping date from dell.

    EDIT: i ordered my 1520 on july4 with 1440x900 resolution (supposedly increasing delay)
