Hey guys, I was wondering if my video card is capable of supporting dual monitors. I was hoping to avoid buying a converter because money is tight but I dual monitors is a necessity for my situation now. I have an inspiron 1720 by the way if that matters.

I have it in my XPS 1530..and it will connect to my TV, or LCD monitor with no problem. Not sure if that helps you out or not.

That being said, Not sure if the Go series is a lot weaker than than a 8600 GT or not, but on my desktop I am able to run dual monitors with the 8600. -
OP...My 1530, as far as I know I can only run one Monitor thru my 1530 (at one time..(externally). So I dunno about your lappy...

SomeFormOFhuman has the dumbest username.
The Inspiron 1720 can only take up to just one external screen. It cannot support dual screens due to the fact that it has one VGA, and TV output port. Tried on my 1720.
You'll need the Matrox DualHead2Go as stated by jiaaochen to do so.
PS, just call it 8600M GT will do. "GO" is a designation for the 7 series to indicate mobile cards. -
you can only have one external, so you can only extend your desktop.
