21 days to try the product form day of invoice, if disatisfied follow the procedure to return it and receive a full refund (minus shipping)

Basically, if you aren't happy with your system, you have til 21 days from the date of invoice to return it. You'll get credit for your system, minus initial shipping/handling. They have forms on their website that you have to fill out, and it gives you directions on what to do.

I heard (from Dell Canada's website) there's a re-stocking fee too...so would that mean you have to pay for the shipping/handling plus a restocking fee if you wanted to return your laptop??

I didn't see that on the US website, but they might charge restocking fee. If that's true, then you would have to pay for restocking, & shipping/handling.

    Hi,
I don't know anything about the canadian site or anywhere but the US. If in the 21 days you want to return it and you got shipping free to begin with you are not out anything. There is no restocking fee within the 21 days on the invoice (which is the shiping date) and you call and get Dell to issue you your Return merchandise Authorization (RMA #) and Dell will either call UPS or who ever and they will come pick it up or you're given instructions to drop it off. Dell still has to call give you the RMA and who ever is picking it up or for wherever you are dropping it off.

If you paid shipping originally ,your out that! If you didn't and return within 21 days you should with a tiny push (insist) or none at all not even have to pay for return shipping. I call after I buy it and make sure It's noted on my account that I don't have to pay for return shipping and get a ticket/confirmation number! If defective the free shipping back goes without any saying/effort! Never is there a restocking fee in the US within the 21 days!

I do have a feeling anyone outside the US will have different charges! It's not really fair if you ask me but that's politics and it sucks!

I wont take offense! See, I just did it again and it wasn't done because you mentioned it.

Simply, In general I'm noe perfect nor an exceptional writer! I'm an expressive person and use it mostly trying to stress a point ,other times it might be an error. I am used to talking in peron before this forum.

I'm not offended! No biggie! I do think think if you felt the burning need to tell me and not help people in the thread or forum then something is wrong that it bothers "you" so much!!!

Don't worry about it! I see your comments all over the board similar and it doesn't offend me!

Ummm about the Dell warranty.. Why don't they offer the damage care in NY and FL??(I live in FL!!!) I think that this warranty is the real thing over the technical warranty which I think is no use at all.. Let's say I'm going to college in NC and carry my laptop with me, would that make me eligible for the warranty? (I think this forum is more helpful than dell site)

When will I be notebook guru? i cant wait!![ :D]

Do you know that I see this comment on so many sites(I'm in NY state) and always question this. The first place I ever saw it 5 years ago was on HP. When I asked Dell about this even though I had no interest ,they told me they didn't no where I came up with that. I have asked many other places and they same the same thing. I tell them and direct them but they tell me It's not true.

I don't know if it is or not and this is not a Dell thing or only Computers either! I've no clue and never tested this to find out. I see ths on major purchase sites of all kinds not only computers! They make it pretty viewable every time I've seen it.

    Good question.......[?][?][?]

So what if I buy a notebook in CT and then bring it to NY, am I still eligible for accidental damage protection?
