    Hello,

I bought my Dell Inspiron 1545 about 6 days ago, I decided to install windows XP and drop vista in-order to save the battery life from vista hungry resources but it didn't go very well i get about 2.15 hours max (with only firefox running and a LAN connection cable plus i shutdown wireless+bluetooth). from the battery under windows XP, then i read about vista/windows 7 that they have better power management than the ancient XP so i installed the vista basic that came with the laptop but when i measure the battery's wear level which was too late i found out this:

    System information for windows:

also i downloaded and installed the latest BIOS A13

Should i return the whole thing and never buy dell products again?

Please Help, and excuse my poor English :(

    Thanks.

Call Dell and ask for a new battery.

There shouldn't be any issues getting it done.

Oh, and just tell them that either they replace the battery or set up a full retun.

I bet you get a new battery the next day :)

It tends to fluctuate since it hasnt been calibrated properly.

Google "li-ion batter calibration" and read how to on several sites.

You'll get a lot wiser about how to treat your battery as an extra, good luck.

I think i did calibrate it right. What i did:
    1. Fully charged (Notebook was off)
    2. Disconnected Power Adapter
    3. Working till it reached about 10%
    4. turned off
    5. 1-4
