Was going to order my laptop from laptops direct until i checked out the Dell website which worked out cheaper...

Dell said absolutely nowhere on their site about delivery times... upon pressing confirm i'm presented with 'Will take about 10 days' (wtf?)
Upon looking at my order status, the estimation says ill get it on the 6th March (about 20 days)

If i ordered it from Laptops direct i woulda had it the next day for about 20quid delivery... instead I order it from Dell 20day delivery for £60 ???
It also says on the site that the receipt will come 2 weeks after delivering the product... how the hell can a receipt take 2 weeks to print?

I have a feeling Frodo and Sam will be delivering my laptop from the Shire or something because this is the longest delivery i've ever known...

It's probably just an estimate, but those laptops are custom built, so it takes time.

My Laptop took 15 days to arrive at my home, If you don't like it don't buy it , Personally I love my dell and it was worth the agonising wait, Custom specs are for the win :)

yeah, but the problem was... dell didn't say anything about it taking that long. I looked everywhere before buying and it didn't say anything about the delivery times. I assumed for £60 delivery it was going to be early next day like 7.30am or something.

I cant wait for it but now i regret ordering it from them as its going to take so long..

i called saturday afternoon to check on the order and apparently there's a backorder for the back of the led slim/light tuxedo black casing. i ordered on feb 11th and it's not expected to get here until mar 4th, so i got you beat by a few days. ;) any email postponing it's delivery won't be taken too well. i mean, c'mon... it's 2400 bucks. sigh... i guess i'll be patient with the current delivery date and hope that it's well put together w/o the annoyances that others here have spoken of (but not patient enough with an email citing it's further delay).

    I know how you feel.
£60 delivery is such a rip-off for the delivery times that you get.
The amount of time it even took to get from order received to order processing is a joke.

If frodo and sam were to deliver your laptop, you better have some decent warranty on it. and it would take a lot longer than 2 weeks
