i have a dell E1505 with vista, i did a clean install when i first got this laptop.

1 My wireless 1390 card get very weak signal, and it drops off often, what can i do about it? Is it my card or my router, or just vista?

    2. Every time i turn on my pc, it takes awhile to load my bluetooth, then it gives me a BTTray ERROR: Unable to start the bluetooth stack service. what can i do to correct this? is it the driver?

I have both the 355 and the 1390 running fine on my XP machine.

    1. It may not always be your computer. What brand of wireless router are you using? How far are you from it? Are there many interferences in your area? Have you tried a difference channel? Are you using the latest firmware? Do you get good connection using a difference wireless adapter?

    2. Bluetooth are a hit and miss in both XP and Vista. I personally have had bad experience with IOGear dongles. However, my Logitech Muvo and my Dell 355 is working fine. Have you tried a different Bluetooth stack and software?

Item 2. I have the same problem with a Dell XPS M1710 and BT355, (and Dell want to come and reload the HDD) What you said about the first boot struck a chord, I am currently trying to see if Norton's is blocking the BT networking (all networking) until the inital incremental "background" scan is done.
I disabled Norton's and powered off, then cold started, no problem, but this is nothing new.
I will try for a few days and let you know what happens.

    It started fine today,
NIS2008 (it did it with NIS2007 also) disabled before shutdown last night, then started NIS manually after 5 min.

Still no problems with AV off.
One other difference is that these restarts have been at home, the problem is usually at work. At work I have a Dell BT keyboard and mouse which seem to be able connect during late boot, maybe loading and using APoint is causing the problems. Any other BT drivers or software installed?
